NASA's space shuttle fleet first launched in 1981 and continued through 30 years of missions, conducting cutting-edge research and building the largest structure in space, the International Space Station. 

STS-135 was the final space shuttle mission, ending July 21, 2011 when Atlantis touched down at the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida. This full broadsheet graphic detailed the mission profile as well as showing the workings of the shuttle and its launch rockets.
